Post Traumatic Stress Info

You are here because post traumatic stress is screwing up your life. You may have been diagnosed with PTSD or PTSS. Or you may be struggling alone with symptoms that can’t be explained any other way.

You don't sleep because fear invades your brain and fills your dreams with horrible images. Your days are a nightmare too. You are tense and fearful. Then you are angry. Your family is sad and your friends are frustrated. You know you need help.

Whether you call it a disorder (a recognized disease) or a syndrome (a bunch of symptoms that act like a disease), it ripples through your world with disasterous effects. It will destroy what is left of your life, if you don’t do something about it.

You are not in this alone. Trauma touches many lives. It changes everything you thought you knew. Eventually, you will heal from your trauma, move beyond your PTSD or PTSS

This page provides links to information about post traumatic stress (hence the ingenious page title). From here, you can click to info about the symptoms of PTSD or the causes of PTSS, and eventually (meaning when I get it posted), its effects on your brain, your body, and your relationships.

You can find out how to help someone else or begin to heal yourself. My goal is to encourage you to find the help you need, and to begin healing. You are not the first person who has suffered from this. Others have walked through this fire and come out on the other side. I am one of them. We are not unscathed, but we were not destroyed either.

You can survive PTSD. It is my sincere hope that this website will help you.

not much is required;

so little we need

the smallest of dreams,

a mere mustard seed.

a glimpse, or a glimmer,

a flicker of light,

a promise of day

against vapid night.

hope
